The Green Cottage Academy is situated in Kiambu County – Kiambu SubCounty at Kiamumbi, off Kamiti Road opposite Kiamumbi Police Station. The school started on 7th May 1992 as a nursery school at Kahawa West Estate in a rented premise - house number CC 23 – which is currently Karura Court Hotel by Rev. Peter Muraguri and Mrs. Judy Muraguri. Rev. Peter Muraguri is a veteran primary school teacher, a holder of a Bachelor Degree in Theology and Masters of Art in Leadership; and Mrs. Judy Muraguri is a specialist in Early Childhood Education.
The school started with only 5 pupils. In 1993 the school population rose to 29 pupils with three teachers. In the year 1994 the population rose to 69 pupils creating demand for new teachers.
Excellence is being better than I am now.
